Our Story

Located in Park the Carts, Omar’s Gyro is a Greek Mediterranean Food truck that is family owned/operated.

I’ve always loved food and cooking. When I came to America I decided to open a food truck. This was nine years ago. I had the food truck put in downtown Portland. It was just me and my wife. I wanted to challenge myself when it came to the food truck business so I decided to open up another food truck. This was five months ago. It’s very important to me that I make all the sauces by hand, I make them myself. I shop everyday so that my stuff is all fresh and tastes as best as can be. I enjoy when people come visit me, whether its old customers, friends or family. It genuinely makes me happy to see smiles on my customers faces. I moved from Baghdad, Iraq to the united states to protect my children and wife from ISIS and the war. I wanted to build them a new life where I knew they were safe. This happened nine years ago, back in august 25, 2011.
